Clare Iles’ constructions and sculptures develop from intensely coloured drawings in sketchbooks that have in turn been have been inspired by journeys and the experiences connected to them. Journeys have included research trips to Jerusalem and India; travels to the studio to make the work; and journeys connected to personal events that change inner workings, both physical and psychological.
